Quick answer: do Filipinos need a visa for Dubai?
Most do. A Philippine passport does not give visa-free entry to the UAE. Since 25 June 2026 a conditional visa on arrival exists for Filipinos who also hold a valid visa or residence permit from the US, an EU country or the UK, or a valid residence permit from Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, Singapore or New Zealand (DFA update of 18 August 2026). Everyone else should secure an approved UAE visa online before flying. Even eligible travellers often choose a pre-approved e-visa for certainty, because arrival approval is still decided by UAE immigration.

Key facts: Dubai visa for Philippine passport holders (2026)

Do Filipinos need a visa for Dubai?
The UAE does not grant blanket visa-free entry to Philippine passport holders. For years, the standard route was a pre-arranged visa sponsored by an airline, a hotel, a relative or a licensed travel company. The UAE is home to roughly one million Filipinos, according to figures reported in the press, so visits are common and the process is well established, but the basic rule stays the same: arrange your permission before you travel unless you clearly qualify for the new visa on arrival.
That applies whether you are flying from Manila, Cebu, Clark or Davao, travelling for a holiday, visiting family in Dubai, attending a conference or connecting through Abu Dhabi.
The 2026 visa-on-arrival rules for Filipinos, explained
On 25 June 2026 the UAE began offering a conditional visa on arrival to nationals of the Philippines, South Africa, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Kenya, as reported in the official WAM announcement and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Philippine DFA then published detailed guidelines for Filipinos, updated on 18 August 2026 and reported by Khaleej Times.
Who qualifies
You must hold a regular Philippine passport and one of the following:
- A valid visa or residence permit issued by the United States, a European Union member state or the United Kingdom; or
- A valid residence permit issued by Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, Singapore or New Zealand.
Press reports of the DFA guidance also say that your passport and your qualifying document should each have at least six months of validity. Always verify the exact conditions before you travel.
Fees and stay length
OptionFee (reported)Extension14-day visa on arrivalAED 100Once, for 14 more days, at AED 25060-day visa on arrivalAED 250Not extendableWhere and how to get it
The DFA says eligible Filipinos can apply at UAE airports or through the ICP smart services website. Applications made through ICP smart services reportedly carry an extra AED 150 service fee per request. In every case, issuance and entry remain subject to the assessment and approval of UAE immigration authorities.
Not on this list? Filipinos without a qualifying visa or permit, for example those travelling directly from the Philippines with no third-country visa, still need to arrange a visa in advance. That is exactly what our Dubai visa from Philippines service is built for.
Visa on arrival or a pre-approved e-visa? How to choose
Both routes are legitimate. The right one depends on your documents, your budget and how much uncertainty you can accept.

A practical tip: airlines and Philippine immigration like to see a confirmed permit. If your trip involves non-refundable bookings, a family reunion or a tight schedule, an approved UAE visa online removes a major source of stress.
UAE visa types and prices for Filipinos (2026)
These are the pre-approved visa options on the Dubai visa from Philippines page. Prices are in USD and include taxes and mandatory medical cover facilitation, as stated at checkout.

Dubai transit visa for Filipinos
If you connect through Dubai or Abu Dhabi on the way to Europe, Africa or the Americas, a Dubai transit visa lets you leave the airport for 48 or 96 hours to see the city.
14, 30 and 60-day tourist visas
Fourteen days suits a short break. Thirty days is the favourite for holidays, pilgrimages-with-sightseeing and family visits. Sixty days works for long stays with relatives.
Multiple-entry visa
Choose this for Oman side trips, frequent business travel or if you will exit and re-enter during the visa period.
Which UAE visa should Filipino travellers choose?

Documents Filipinos need for a UAE visa

- Accommodation: hotel reservation, rental confirmation or the address and contact details of your host.
- Qualifying visa or permit: if you plan to use the visa on arrival, bring the original US, EU, UK, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Canadian, Singaporean or New Zealand document.

- Pick your visa. Open the Dubai visa from Philippines page, choose duration and entry type, and add Express if you leave within 24 hours.
- Upload your documents. Photograph the passport flat in daylight, and use a plain white background for your portrait.
- Pay securely. Checkout is encrypted, and terms and refund conditions are shown before you pay.
- We lodge your application. Licensed PRO experts submit it through the UAE immigration system.

- Express: 12 to 24 hours for an extra USD 100.
- Best time to apply: 5 to 7 days before departure, and 10 days or more around Christmas, Holy Week and school holidays.

Leaving the Philippines: what to prepare for immigration
Many Filipino first-time travellers worry more about Philippine airport questioning than the UAE visa itself. Officers of the Bureau of Immigration are looking for evidence that you are a genuine tourist, which usually means you can show:
- Your approved UAE visa or your qualifying visa or permit, if you will use visa on arrival
- A confirmed return or onward ticket
- Hotel booking or the host's address and contact number
- Proof of employment, business or studies that ties you to the Philippines
- Bank statements or other proof that you can fund the trip
- For minors travelling without parents, the documents required by the DSWD
Requirements can change, so check the Bureau's latest guidance. Travelling on a tourist visa to work is illegal in the UAE and can lead to refusal of departure at Philippine airports.
Why UAE visas get rejected for Filipino applicants (and how to avoid it)
- Blurry or glare-covered passport scans. Retake them in daylight.
- Passport expiring within 6 months. Renew first.
- Non-white or shadowed portrait background.
- Name mismatches between passport, ticket and application, including middle names and suffixes.
- Previous UAE overstay or unpaid fines.
- Missing flight or accommodation proof.
- Wrong visa type, such as single entry when you plan to re-enter.
If a problem appears, we tell you what to fix so you can resubmit quickly.
Extension, overstay and visa rules for visitors
Can you extend your stay?
Pre-approved tourist visas can usually be extended from inside the UAE through the ICP portal or GDRFA, subject to approval and a fee. For the visa on arrival, the 14-day option can be extended once for 14 days, while the 60-day option cannot be extended at all. Apply before your permit expires.
Overstay penalties
Overstaying brings daily fines, possible detention and in some cases an entry ban. Amounts are set by the authorities and can change, so check the ICP website.
Rules every visitor should know
- No working on a tourist visa.
- Carry ID. Keep your passport or a certified copy with you.
- Respect local laws. Drugs (including some prescription medicines), public intoxication and offensive online behaviour carry serious penalties.
- Dress modestly in malls, mosques and public places.
- Ramadan etiquette. Avoid eating, drinking or smoking in public during fasting hours.
Arriving in the UAE: airport checklist
Most Filipino travellers depart from Manila's NAIA, with others using Mactan-Cebu, Clark or Davao, and land at Dubai International (DXB) (map) or Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport. Direct flights from Manila take roughly 9 hours, but carriers and schedules change, so check with your airline.
- Printed e-visa and a digital copy
- Philippine passport valid 6+ months with blank pages
- Return or onward ticket
- Hotel booking or host's address and phone number
- Qualifying visa or permit original, if using visa on arrival
- Travel insurance and proof of funds
- Medication in original packaging with prescriptions
At UAE immigration, officers may ask about your purpose of visit and where you will stay. Answer clearly and keep documents within reach.
