Quick answer: do Moroccans need a visa for Dubai?

Yes. Moroccan passport holders need an approved UAE visa before they fly. There is no visa-free entry and no general visa on arrival for Moroccans, and Morocco was not among the countries added to the UAE's conditional visa-on-arrival scheme on 25 June 2026. The easiest way is to get a UAE visa online: a 48/96-hour transit visa or a 14, 30 or 60-day tourist visa, with single or multiple entry. You can apply for a Dubai visa from Morocco in about two minutes, with no trip to the embassy in Rabat.

Key facts: Dubai visa for Moroccan passport holders (2026)

Do Moroccans need a visa for Dubai?

Yes. Morocco is not on the UAE's list of visa-exempt nationalities. Moroccans travelling to Dubai, Abu Dhabi or any other emirate for tourism, business, family visits or even a long connection must hold an approved entry permit before boarding. In practice there are three routes:

  1. Apply online through a licensed UAE visa provider. This is what most Moroccan travellers do because it is quick and entirely digital. Start on our Morocco UAE visa page.
  2. Visa sponsored by an airline or travel agency. Some airlines can arrange permits for passengers, often with extra service fees.
  3. Visa sponsored by a UAE resident or company. A relative living in the UAE or a host company may be able to sponsor a visit permit through the official channels. This depends on the sponsor's status and the current rules.

The rule applies whether you depart from Casablanca, Marrakech, Rabat, Tangier, Agadir, Fes or abroad on a Moroccan passport.

Why there is no visa on arrival for Moroccans (and how to avoid the myths)

On 25 June 2026 the UAE's Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) widened its conditional visa-on-arrival programme. According to the official WAM announcement and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the newly eligible nationalities are Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Kenya and South Africa, and each traveller must also hold a valid residence permit from the US, an EU member state, the UK, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand or Canada.

Morocco is not on that list. That means a Moroccan passport, with or without a European, American or Canadian residence permit, should be treated as requiring a pre-approved visa. If you want to confirm the current position, check the ICP portal or the UAE MoFA.

Myth: "Moroccans are visa-free for the UAE"

A number of auto-generated visa checkers show Morocco as visa-free for the UAE, sometimes quoting 30 to 90 days. Other independent trackers show the opposite: an e-visa or visa is required. Airlines enforce the stricter rule, and a traveller without an approved visa can be denied boarding at Casablanca. Our advice is simple: never fly on the strength of a third-party website. Use an official source, your airline or a licensed provider.

What about travellers who hold a second passport?

Dual nationals who also hold, for example, an EU, UK or US passport may be able to enter the UAE under that passport's own rules. Use the same passport for check-in, immigration and your application, and see the FAQ below.

Documents Moroccans need for a UAE visa

  • Passport copy: clear colour scan of the data page, valid for at least 6 months from arrival, without glare, cropped edges or fingers over the text.
  • Passport photo: recent, white background, face centred and fully visible, no filters.
  • Flight details: confirmed booking or itinerary showing arrival and departure dates.
  • Accommodation: hotel reservation, rental confirmation or host address in the UAE.
  • For minors: the child's own passport and photo. Parents travelling alone with children should carry any documents required by the Moroccan authorities.
  • Name consistency: make sure the spelling in Latin letters is identical on the passport, the flight ticket and the application.

How long does the UAE visa take, and when should Moroccans apply?

  • Standard: 24 to 48 hours in normal conditions.
  • Express: 12 to 24 hours for an extra USD 100.
  • Best time to apply: 5 to 7 days before departure, and 10 days or more for summer holidays, Eid periods and year-end travel.
  • Do not apply too early: a visa has a window in which you must enter the UAE, so check the entry deadline on your approval.
  • Public holidays: UAE and Moroccan holidays can slow things down, so add a buffer around Eid.

Why UAE visas get rejected for Moroccan applicants (and how to avoid it)

  • Blurry or glare-covered passport scans. Retake them in daylight.
  • Passport expiring within 6 months. Renew first.
  • Non-white or shadowed portrait background.
  • Name mismatches between Arabic, French and Latin-script spellings on different documents.
  • Previous UAE overstay or unpaid fines.
  • Missing flight or accommodation proof.
  • Wrong visa type, such as single entry when you plan to re-enter.

Our PRO team tells you what to fix before submission. See the refund and cancellation policy for what applies if something goes wrong.

Extension, overstay and visa rules for visitors

Can you extend a Dubai tourist visa?

Usually yes, subject to approval and a fee. Apply before your permit expires through the ICP portal or GDRFA, or ask our desk for help with extension preparation. Our stay and overstay rules page covers the practical details.

Overstay penalties

Overstaying leads to daily fines, possible detention and in some cases an entry ban. Amounts are set by the authorities and can change, so check the ICP website for current figures.

Rules every visitor should know

  • No working on a tourist visa. It is illegal.
  • Carry ID. Keep your passport or a certified copy with you.
  • Respect local laws. Drugs (including some prescription medicines), public intoxication and offensive behaviour online carry serious penalties.
  • Dress respectfully in malls, mosques and public places.
  • Ramadan etiquette. Avoid eating, drinking or smoking in public during fasting hours.

Flying from Morocco to Dubai: airport checklist

Most Moroccan travellers depart from Mohammed V International Airport, Casablanca (CMN). Others use Marrakech Menara, Rabat-Salé, Tangier Ibn Battouta, Agadir or Fes, usually with a connection. Airports are managed by ONDA. Direct Casablanca–Dubai flights have been operated by Emirates and Royal Air Maroc, with a flight time of roughly 7.5 to 8 hours, but schedules change, so check with the airline. You land at Dubai International (DXB) (map) or, on some itineraries, Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport.

  • Printed e-visa and a digital copy
  • Moroccan passport valid 6+ months with blank pages
  • Return or onward ticket
  • Hotel booking or host's address and phone number
  • Travel insurance and proof of funds (card or cash)
  • Medication in original packaging with prescriptions

At immigration, officers may ask about your purpose of visit and accommodation. Answer clearly and keep your documents handy.

How we keep this guide accurate

Our visa desk reviews this page whenever the ICP, MoFA or the UAE Embassy publishes a policy change, and re-checks prices and timelines regularly. FAQs: Dubai visa from Morocco and UAE visa for Moroccans

Do Moroccans need a visa for Dubai?

Yes. Moroccan passport holders need a UAE visa arranged before they travel. There is no visa-free entry and no general visa on arrival for Moroccan nationals, so the standard route is an approved e-visa through a licensed provider such as Budget Travel & Tourism.

Can Moroccans get a visa on arrival in Dubai?

No, not under the UAE's published rules. The latest expansion, announced on 25 June 2026, added South Africa, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines and Kenya to the conditional visa-on-arrival scheme, and Morocco is not on that list. Moroccan travellers should apply for a UAE visa online before departure.

Why do some websites say Moroccans can enter the UAE visa-free?

Some automatically generated visa-checker sites list Morocco as visa-free for the UAE. That is wrong and can lead to denied boarding at Casablanca or a refused entry in Dubai. Rely on the UAE's ICP, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, your airline and licensed visa providers, and when in doubt confirm with the UAE MoFA or the UAE Embassy in Rabat.

I live in France, Spain, the UK or the US with a residence permit. Can I get a visa on arrival as a Moroccan?

Based on the nationalities named in the ICP's announcements, Moroccan nationals are not currently included in the residence-permit visa-on-arrival scheme, even if they hold a permit from the US, an EU country or the UK. Apply for an e-visa before you fly and check the ICP portal if you want to confirm current eligibility.

How do I apply for a Dubai visa from Morocco online?

Go to the Dubai visa from Morocco page, pick your visa, upload a clear passport scan and a white-background photo, add flight and hotel details, pay at secure checkout and receive your e-visa by email and WhatsApp. No visit to the embassy in Rabat is required. Track progress on the visa tracker.

How much does a Dubai visa cost for Moroccans in 2026?

Budget Travel & Tourism lists 48-hour transit from USD 150, 96-hour transit from USD 175, 14-day from USD 200, 30-day single entry from USD 250, 60-day single entry from USD 350, 30-day multiple entry from USD 450 and 60-day multiple entry from USD 550. Express processing (12-24 hours) adds USD 100. Live prices are on the application page.

How long does the UAE visa take for Moroccan passport holders?

Standard processing is typically 24 to 48 hours and express is 12 to 24 hours. Apply 5 to 7 days before you travel, and 10 days or more during peak periods such as summer holidays, Eid and year-end.

What documents do Moroccans need for a UAE visa?

A clear colour scan of your Moroccan passport data page valid for at least 6 months, a recent passport-style photo with a white background, flight details and proof of accommodation (hotel booking or host address). Our free document check reviews your files before you pay.

How long must my Moroccan passport be valid?

At least 6 months from your date of arrival in the UAE. If it expires sooner, renew it first through the Moroccan authorities, for example via the DGSN.

Do I need to go to the UAE Embassy in Rabat?

Most Moroccan travellers apply online through licensed providers, which avoids travelling to Rabat. The Embassy remains the official point of contact for consular matters, so check its latest guidance through the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs if you have a special case.

Which visa is best for me: 14, 30 or 60 days?

Choose 14 days for a short break or business trip, 30 days for most holidays and family visits (the most popular option), and 60 days for long family stays or extended itineraries. Pick multiple entry if you will leave and re-enter the UAE, for instance for a side trip to Oman.

What is the difference between single and multiple entry?

A single-entry visa lets you enter the UAE once, and it ends when you leave. A multiple-entry visa lets you leave and return within its validity, which suits regional trips and frequent business travel.

Do I need a visa for a layover in Dubai on a flight from Casablanca?

If you stay airside and continue on the same ticket, most airlines do not require a UAE visa, but rules vary by airline, so confirm before you fly. If you want to leave the airport during a long layover, apply for a 48-hour or 96-hour Dubai transit visa.

Can I extend my UAE tourist visa?

Tourist visas can usually be extended from inside the UAE through ICP or GDRFA channels, subject to approval and a fee. Apply before the visa expires and read our stay and overstay rules.

What happens if I overstay?

Overstaying brings daily fines, a possible entry ban and trouble at the airport. Fine amounts change, so check the ICP smart services portal for current figures and leave or extend on time.

Can I work in Dubai on a tourist visa?

No. Working on a tourist or visit visa is illegal in the UAE. You need a work permit, employment entry permit or a freelance permit. Our 2-year freelance visa is a separate product.

Do I need a return ticket and hotel booking?

Yes. Carry proof of onward or return travel and proof of where you will stay, whether a hotel reservation or the address of the person hosting you.

Do children need their own UAE visa?

Yes. Every traveller, including babies, needs a visa linked to their own passport. Family packages let you apply for everyone together.

Does the visa cover Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the other emirates?

Yes. A UAE tourist visa is valid in all seven emirates: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.

Is Budget Travel & Tourism licensed?

Yes. Budget Travel & Tourism LLC operates under DTCM licence no. 1202281 and a Dubai Unified License that you can check on the Invest in Dubai verification page.

How can I verify my UAE e-visa?

Check your permit on the official ICP smart services portal or on GDRFA Dubai. If it cannot be found, contact your provider immediately.

Why are UAE visas refused for Moroccan applicants?

The usual causes are blurry or cropped passport scans, photos with shadows or non-white backgrounds, passports expiring within 6 months, spelling differences between Arabic, French and Latin-script names across documents, earlier overstays, and incomplete flight or hotel details. Fix the cause and reapply, and review the refund policy.

Should I carry a printed copy of my e-visa?

Yes. Keep a printed copy and a digital copy. Airlines such as Royal Air Maroc and Emirates may check your visa at check-in in Casablanca, Marrakech or Rabat.

I am Moroccan but live abroad. Can I still apply?

Yes. You can apply online from anywhere using your Moroccan passport. Use the same passport for your application, flight and arrival.

I hold a second passport (EU, UK or US). Which should I use?

Citizens of many EU countries, the UK and the US can enter the UAE visa-free or on arrival under their own passport rules. If you travel on that second passport, do not mix passports: use the same one for check-in and for immigration, and confirm the rule for that nationality with your airline.

How long is the flight from Morocco to Dubai and what is the time difference?

Direct flights from Casablanca take roughly 7.5 to 8 hours, operated by carriers such as Emirates and Royal Air Maroc (schedules change, so check current timetables). Dubai is normally 3 hours ahead of Morocco, and 4 hours ahead when Morocco temporarily moves to GMT during Ramadan.

When is the best time to visit Dubai from Morocco?

November to March offers pleasant weather for beaches, desert trips and city sightseeing. Summers are very hot, though hotels are cheaper and indoor attractions are plentiful.

Can I bring medication from Morocco to the UAE?

Carry medicines in original packaging with a doctor's prescription. Some medicines that are easily available in Morocco, including certain sedatives and strong painkillers, are controlled in the UAE. Check UAE Ministry of Health guidance before you travel.

What if the rules change after I read this guide?

UAE visa policy can change quickly, as the 25 June 2026 visa-on-arrival update showed. We review this page when official announcements change, and you can confirm anything with the ICP, UAE MoFA or our visa desk on +971 56 2617646.
